BEST STATISTICS PAPER AWARD

As every year, the Conference will offer the Award for the Best New Statistical Paper.

The award was proposed in 2005 by Professor N. Balakrishnan (McMaster University) and from 2006 to 2023, 17 awards and 5 commendations were awarded.

From 2021, the award is upgraded with the support of Professor Balakrishnan who is refinancing it so that it is accompanied by a prize of 200 euros and an exemption from the annual subscription of the ESI for 2 years. Thus, the award is part of the international section of the Panhellenic Statistics Conference with the speeches given in English.

A new statistician is understood to be a postgraduate student, a candidate for a Master’s or PhD degree or a new PhD candidate (maximum 3 years after the announcement).

Interested parties are invited

1. to express their intention to claim the award by sending an email to the ESI Secretariat (secretariat@esi-stat.gr) by 5/03/2025 and
2. to arrange for their work, written in accordance with the typing instructions for the ESI Proceedings, to be submitted electronically by 5/03/2025 to the same address (the award regulations are posted on the ESI website https://esi-stat.gr/word/).
